My Neighbourhood Summer School
Photowalk in Lincoln Green, Mabgate & Burmantofts
August 2021As part of East Street Arts ‘Neighbourhood Summer School’ I ran a Photowalk with two groups of children from the areas of Mabgate, Lincoln Green & Burmantofts between the ages of 7-14.
All equipped with an iPad we set out into our area and each of them looked out for different textures, colours and forms they were drawn to in their Neighbourhood. We spoke about structuring and framing photographs and how they would work alongside each other.
In the following session, we worked on a colourful zine, with a risograph cover which was then circulated with them, their parents and the neighbourhood.
